Summer Gut Festival

Get Festival Ready

Summer festival season is here! Whether you're pitching tents at Glastonbury or Reading or gearing up for electrifying weekends at Wireless in the city, there's nothing quite like UK festivals. However, the chaotic fun, late nights and over-indulging in delicious festival food can impact our gut health. So, to make sure you don't miss out on any of the excitement, here are some of our top tips for a gut-friendly festival.

Make Friends With H2O

  • Like your favourite headliner, water is the star of the show, it ensures smooth digestion and helps to prevent any festival-related tummy troubles like constipation.
  • Hydration is your ultimate festival bestie. So, whether you’re dancing in the sun or chilling in the shade, keep the hydration flowing.

Eating Your Water Counts

  • Make a beeline for; watermelons, cucumbers, celery sticks and cherry tomatoes. These foods have a high-water content so are a great way to stay hydrated; plus, they make great snack packs.
  • Bring a water bottle to accessorise your outfit and top it up when you pass a water station. There’s nothing worse than having to walk miles for a top-up or running out when your favourite band is on stage.
  • Alternate that ice-cold pint with a non-alcoholic beverage. Hydration is key to keep your gut bugs happy! It’s about being mindful and still enjoying yourself.

Make Your Food As Colourful As Your Outfits

Try And Get Some Shut Eye

  • Sleep is another way to look after your gut health, so try and get a few hours of sleep (at least)! Lack of sleep can impact the balance of the bacteria in the gut – and result in an unhappy tummy for the duration of the festival. Yikes!
  • Take the time to prep your tent for a good snooze. Think eye mask, ear plugs, comfy bed clothes, a comfy pillow and even a pillow spray.
  • If you can, wind down before bed with a good stretch or yoga with your mates.
