Positive steps for the New Year

See our ideas for brighter mornings!

Why not try our simple body boosting tips to get your day off to a positive start?

Singing in the Shower

Belting out a tune is proven to release feel good chemicals in our brain, making shower-oke a great way to start any day.

Try to incorporate some exercise into your morning routine - NHS recommend at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity such as cycling or brisk walking every week and strength exercises on 2 or more days a week that work all the major muscles (legs, hips, back, abdomen, chest, shoulders and arms)

A Squat a Day

Do squats whilst brushing your teeth. Light exercise in the morning can help you feel more alert, so why not fit it in during a morning ritual.

Prepare as much as possible the night before, this will reduce stress and save time each morning.  Layout clothes and any other items you need to get you day off to a smooth unrushed start.

Warm up your brain

Just like your body, your brain can benefit from a kick start in the morning. Stimulate yours by listening to an interesting podcast, reading a book, or even trying a sudoku.

In a Rush?

Use multiple phone alarms.  They’ll spur you on when you should be moving on to your next task and help you get stuff done.

Feel the stretch
