You’ve probably heard us mention probiotics. They’re the good bugs in your daily bottle of Yakult that help strengthen your gut’s natural defences. But have you heard of prebiotics?

Prebiotics ‘feed up’ the good bacteria in your digestive tract, helping them grow and flourish. And luckily enough, they’re very easy to find. Onions, garlics, shallots, leeks and asparagus are brilliant sources of prebiotics. So are chicory, artichokes, chickpeas and lentils.

Action

Have some prebiotics with your meal tonight. Try a couple of the above. And here’s an amazing little recipe for poached eggs and asparagus for your breakfast tomorrow. Sounds odd, but it works. Promise.
