Yoga. It’s not just for supple young women. Or New Age men.
There are a few yoga poses that have been used for years to help people relax, breathe more deeply, and avoid digestive problems.
Today, try the Yogasana. A simple move that stretches your neck, shoulders, spine, knees and hips. And helps your digestive system to tick along healthily.
The ‘Yogasana’
• Sit in the ‘easy pose’ (see picture).
• Clasp your hands behind your back, straighten your arms as much as possible, pulling shoulders back “soldier” fashion.
• Begin to push the hands upwards behind you, at the same time allowing the head to bend forward towards the ground.
• Don’t force the pose. And don’t worry if at first you hardly bend forward at all. Begin by holding the pose for 15 seconds, working up to one minute.
